Debra D'Alessandro Debra joined the Roadshow Relics in spring 2013. She sang for seven seasons with Anna Crusis Women's Choir, and from 2000 to 2017 she sang with the feminist a cappella group, SheWho. Since 1996 Debra has been host and producer of Amazon Country, the nation's longest running lesbian/feminist music and public affairs radio program, airing at 88.5 WXPN in Philly. Debra loves to sing a wide variety of genres including Blues, Jazz, Rock, Bluegrass, and Folk. Her musical influences include Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, Pink Floyd, CSNY, Judy Garland, and Dina Washington.
List Item 1Todd Oberholtzer Todd is a vocalist and guitarist from New Jersey who has been performing in the tri-state area for over 30 years. Todd's musical career has allowed him to perform as a solo artist and in bands covering everything from classic rock and blues to original music. Todd sings lead and harmony with the sultry Deb D’Alessandro and their blend is so seamless their vocal interpretations are timeless. Todd’s guitar style has been influenced by the playing of Neil Young, Keith Richards, David Gilmour and Eric Clapton. Blending these disparate styles into a unique blend of melodic, full-throttle rhythm is a key component to this band’s instrumental soundscape. Todd is also a published songwriter whose composition “We Can Change the World” was donated to aid the COW Project-a diversity education and tolerance organization. During the day, Todd is a history teacher which ties together his love for classic music!
Item Link List Item 2Robin Cohen Robin started taking guitar lessons at 8. While in college, at Clark University, in Worcester, MA she studied classical guitar intensively. She took Master Classes at Tanglewood Institute, in the Berkshires Massachusetts and then a year abroad in Paris, France continuing her classical guitar studies, this time being taught in French! There she formed a band called Bien Entendu and they performed in the Loire Valley. All along the way, just for fun, Robin developed a passion for a radically different instrument, the harmonica. With "harp" in had, Robin jammed at college campuses and folk festivals across the county, sitting with with musicians, and becoming familiar with the accompaniment for all types of music, from folk to blues to rock n roll. She became a "pocket musician"...Always finding the pocket between vocals. Professionally, Robin added her harmonica talents to various bands, including Miss All The Funand The Bobbo Max Blues Band. About 10 years ago, Robin branched out again, addin mandolin to her credentials. Her devotion and love for the instrument are evident. She describes it as "as old friend who has come home." Now and then you will find Robin behind a keyboard laying down some music to accompany her fellow musicians. For 3 years, Robin merged her talents with singer-songwriter, Sue Bailey, to form Sweet Namaste. They played at listening rooms in the PA and NJ area such as Tin Angel, Puck, and the Audubon Auction House. They also took it outside to music venues such as Concerts Under The Stars in Upper Merion. Sundown Music Seris in the Park, Haddon Heights, NJ, UPper PRovidence Music in the Park and New Year's Eve at the First Night Haddonfield. Robin is currently playing with The Roadshow Relics. She has played with this band for almost 12 years and although a number of musicians have changed out, she has always played with Todd Oberholtzer, a very talented guitarist and singer. We call him the human ipod because he can play just about any song any time. The Relics play classic rock from the 60s up to some of today's pop music. They also play original tunes. "We make it our own. We Relicize it!" As a composer, Robin has written and produced with Joey Stout a small body of instrumental works and one with musical, lyricist Jon Sherling called Movin' On. These can be found on Robin's page. Robin weaves intricate detail into songs with all of her instruments, perfectly complementing the vocals and other instrumentation being played. Her riffs fill the musical pocket. Watching audiences melt into the music by singing along, tapping their feet, smiling, or even daydreaming is the magic of the music for Robin.
Item Link List Item 3Mike App Mike received his talent and passion for music from the three people closest to him-his parents and uncle. His mother played clarinet, uncle on drums, and his father had a flare for folk music. Mike started his musical career at age 5 singing in the children's choir at his church. In high school, Mike played in the drum line which landed him a coveted spot in the Marching Virginians at Virginia Tech. After college, Mike continued performing symphonic music in the Richmond Concert Band and became a founding member of Richmond club. Mike sang and wrote many of the band's original tunes on their debut CD "No Fire". The band went on hiatus after 12 years of performing, but just in time to join Roadshow Relics!
